The Science Bit!

You might have noticed that there are 2 sides to a radiator. Well only one side puts heat into the room, the other just heats up the wall. Well, why heat up the wall?

The Ecologic Radiator Panel improves the efficiency of your system in 3 ways:

• THE REFLECTIVE FINISH REFLECTS RADIANT HEAT AWAY FROM THE WALL AND BACK INTO THE RADIATOR
• THE SAW-TOOTH PROFILE OF THE PANEL, TRAPS STILL AIR (THE BASIS OF ANY INSULATION…JUST LIKE THE DUVET ON YOUR BED!) BEHIND THE PANEL
• THE PROFILE ALSO REDIRECTS CONVECTIVE AIRFLOW INTO THE ROOM INCREASING THE COMFORT LEVELS

This results in a much more uniform heat level in the room and no wasted heat into the wall. The graduated colours of the left hand picture show how heat normally rises up the wall, leaving the room cool at ankle level. In the picture on the right, the arrows show the flow of heat moving out into the room, making for a much warmer room.

These two photos are taken with thermal photography; the shots are taken from outside and look at the amount of heat in the wall. The one on the left has no Panel and shows lots of wasted heat in the wall. The one on the right has the Ecologic Radiator Panel fitted on the wall and shows virtually no heat in the wall.
